Aldershot DFA Recognition at Hampshire FA Grassroots Awards

There was a healthy list of recipients from within the Aldershot Divisional Football Association area recognised at the recent Hampshire FA Grassroots Football Awards, sponsored by BSA Regal. The event was held virtually due to Covid-19 restrictions and covered the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons.

Included in the list of award winners within the Aldershot DFA was Eddie Spraggett who has served 28 years on the ADFA council including General Secretary (1994- 2003) and President (2003-2009). Eddie received the Hampshire FA Certificate of Commendation for 10 years’ additional service following the award of a Hampshire FA Service Award.  Former Chairman John Marchment and Life Vice President John Foggo also received the certificate.

Congratulating the award winners Aldershot DFA Chairman Mike Gardner said, ”Many people continue to make a tremendous commitment to local football and this recognition from Hampshire FA shows how much Eddie, John and John’s contributions over the years are valued and appreciated.”

Tonight, we will be celebrating some remarkable members of our community, who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the game we all love.”
