Sunday Senior Cup turns green

Some stunning goals concluded a busy weekend of cup finals for the Aldershot Divisional Football Association as Yateley United lifted the Sunday Senior Invitational Cup beating Frimley Green 3-1 at Aldershot Town FC.

United, who reached the FA Sunday Cup 4th round earlier in the season, went behind on seven minutes courtesy of a deflected Joe Tagg strike from 20 yards. Yateley extended their lead soon after the interval with an excellent low shot from Kane Fitzgerald. 

Frimley Green gave themselves a lifeline on 53 minutes with a rifled 20 yarder from Dan Bone.

However despite pressurising the Yateley goal it was inspirational work from Fitzgerald on 81 minutes to set up Ben Chalke to slot the ball low past keeper Jamie Cunningham and put the game out of reach for the Surrey side.

Yateley’s Adam Gibson was voted Player of the Match.
