Hartley win the Senior Cup

A good crowd of almost 300 turned out to support their local teams on Tuesday evening. Hartley took the lead through Adam Allen after 21 minutes with Kingsley Eshun making it 2-0 just four minutes later. 2-0 at half time in a fairly open game. Five minutes into the second half though Kyen Nicholas added to Hartley’s tally then added his second and Hartley’s fourth on 62 minutes. Game over – or was it? Fleet continued to carve out a few openings and this was rewarded with a Dan Bone goal on 68 minutes. Thoughts of a comeback though were short lived when Kofi Halliday pounced on a loose ball to put the Southern League club 5-1 up with just 18 minutes to play. Fleet continued to look for openings though and worked the Hartley goalkeeper a few times before Dan Bone popped up with his second goal for Fleet just three minutes from the end. And so it ended, Fleet Town 2 – Hartley Wintney 5.

Congratulations to Hartley Wintney.

The two clubs are scheduled to meet again pre-season…
