ADFA Cups update

18th May 2020 – Aldershot DFA Cup competitions

Further to our previous announcement below on 16th March, the following message has been issued by the Association’s Cup Committee.

 As you will be aware the FA have voided grassroots football for 2019/20 due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

As it stands we have been left with a little bit of scope for completing the cup competitions, but only where competitions are at least at the semi-finals stage.

Unfortunately, this means that we have had to void the Saturday Senior, Intermediate, and Junior competitions.  We will be looking in the coming weeks at opening the competition up for the 2020/2021 season.  At that time we will come back to you all and advise regarding entry fees for that competition on the basis that you have entered and paid for a competition that has not been completed this season.

If in their final guidance the FA allow us to, we intend to complete the Sunday Senior and Junior competitions prior to the start of the next season.  Any final would need to be played before the start of your league season, so it may mean playing the semi-final one weekend and the final the following weekend.

Only players who were eligible to play in the finals, which would have been played in early May 2020 will be allowed to play in the semi-finals and finals.
