Chairman receives long service award

Aldershot DFA 20 Year Award – Mike Gardner

Our current Aldershot DFA Chair Mike Gardner received his 20 Year Service Award at the recent AGM at Aldershot Town FC. President Thura Win made the presentation to Mike commemorating outstanding service to the local football community.

Mike was a referee for 18 years commencing in 2000.  On retirement he refereed 546 matches plus a further 95 as assistant mainly on the local adult and youth circuit in addition to Wessex and Combined Counties League matches.  He continues to be the Aldershot Area Referee Mentor Co-Ordinator.

Mike was also Commercial Manager at Fleet Town between 2006 and 2012.

In 2014 Mike joined the Aldershot DFA Council and, a year later, became Chair, a position he continues to serve excellently for the benefit of local football.
